Understanding Functional Medicine

Functional medicine involves understanding the origins, prevention, and treatment of complex, chronic diseases.

Not only is health the absence of disease, but it’s also the ability to recover from illness, injury, and other ailments.

Many factors contribute to good health, including genetics, nutrition, physical activity, environment, personal relationships, education, and socioeconomic status.

Are you surviving or thriving?

In terms of health, there is a clear distinction between surviving and thriving. Surviving involves doing the bare minimum to stay alive, while thriving involves taking responsibility for one’s health and continuously striving to reach and maintain optimal health.

Many diseases can be influenced by lifestyle factors and may be prevented by participating in activities such as regular physical activity, managing stress levels, getting quality sleep, and eating a healthy diet rich in whole foods.

The path to optimal health is a series of deliberate, daily behaviors or choices. At our practice, we will help you establish a plan that allows you to make the best choices for your unique needs.

What We Focus On

Providing Patient-Centered Care

We offer patient-centered care wherein we do work to help you go beyond just the absence of disease, but to discover vitality.

Taking An Integrative, Science-Based Healthcare Approach

We examine the complex interactions between a patient’s history, physiology, lifestyle patterns, genetic makeup, along with both internal (mind, body, and spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that contribute to a person's health.

Using A Combination Of Best Medical Practices

We combine traditional Western medical practices with that which is often called "alternative" or "integrative" medicine.
